Hammond Park Upgrade.jpg

Hammond Park Upgrade –
"Coming March 2026"

We’re excited to share that the Hammond Park upgrade is well underway, with the new facilities scheduled to open in late March 2026.

The upgraded space will provide Ashfield Pirates FC with modern amenities, including improved storage and canteen facilities, creating a true home for our Little Pirates, Minitillies, women’s teams and junior programs. This upgrade will make match days, training and community programs even better for players, volunteers and families.

Hammond Park will play a key role in the future growth of the club, supporting our commitment to inclusive, community-focused football in Ashfield and the Inner West.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Hammond Park for the next chapter of the Pirates journey.

The Adam Spencer-Carr
"Award 2025"

The Adam Spencer-Carr Award is Ashfield Pirates FC’s most meaningful honour, presented each season to a volunteer who goes above and beyond for the Pirates family.

Named in memory of Adam Spencer-Carr, who co-founded the club with Jean Kouriel and sadly passed away shortly before the club was approved, this award represents the heart, culture, and community spirit the Pirates were built on.

In 2025, the award was especially emotional as it was presented to Atlas, Adam’s son, whose contribution throughout the season embodied everything his father stood for. His dedication to coaching, mentoring young players, and supporting the club made him a truly deserving recipient.

Each year, this award ensures Adam’s legacy continues through the volunteers who give their time, passion, and heart to our club.

Cec Barlow
"Volunteers Award 2025"

At Ashfield Pirates FC, our club is built on passion, community, and the dedication of people who give their time without ever asking for recognition. This year’s nominee is one of those people, someone who has been part of the Pirates family for the past five years, giving countless hours as a manager and coach, always putting the players and the club first.

In 2025, this person came to us with a simple question: “What else can I do to help?” The answer? Quite a lot. They stepped up to organise the canteen roster, making sure game days ran smoothly and our community had a warm, welcoming place to gather. They took on the responsibility for ground set-up and pack-down, those vital behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the club running but often go unnoticed.

Every Saturday at Pratten Park, they’re there, first to arrive, last to leave, setting up fields, packing equipment, and lending a hand wherever it’s needed. They bring not just hard work, but a genuine sense of camaraderie and Pirate spirit, lifting everyone around them.

This year’s Cec Barlow Award nominee represents everything we value: selflessness, commitment, and love for our community. And tonight, we are proud to reveal that this incredible volunteer is…
Dominic Mooney.

Bert Harvey
"Fair Play Award 2025"

Ashfield Pirates FC have been awarded the Bert Harvey Award at the Football Canterbury Volunteers Recognition Dinner, our 2nd win in just 4 years!

The Bert Harvey Award is all about fair play: playing by the rules, showing respect, and building the positive spirit of football. And that’s exactly what makes us Pirates.

From players to parents, coaches to managers, volunteers to supporters, this award is for all of us. Together, we’re showing the football community what it means to be part of the Pirates family.

Thank you, Pirates, this is YOUR award!

Jo Haylen MP
"
Community Recognition Award 2022"

Another Successful season for the Pirates after being awarded the Community Recognition Award by Jo Haylen MP for Summer Hill.

Jo Haylen MP Community Recognition Award is recognition for Ashfield Pirates for outstanding contribution to the Summer Hill community. This award truly shows the hard work the Club has undertaken to ensure our community is physically active, healthy and playing sport in a friendly environment. This is a testament to all our volunteers and members of the club.

As the Club President I am so proud of every one of our Pirates and look forward to working with Jo and her team to ensure this continues in 2023 and beyond.
